Barley

We are authorized growers of P-919. P-919 is a beardless forage type barley.  It has been a good steady producer for us.  We are working with public and private entities to bring newer more productive selections to market, thought that hasn’t happened yet.

Barley is a very good feed grain, and it matures earlier than wheat, leaving open more time for planting a second crop behind it. This would work well with soybeans, grain sorghum, sunflowers, sesame, and possibly cotton. We have had feeders contact us looking for barley grain as well as barley seed to plant for grazing/forage.
