Warm season grasses are usually going to be planted in late April till the middle part of May, and can grow throughout the summer till frost if you let them.  Some examples would be millet, sorghum-sudangrass and forage sorghum.  There are several other grasses, and some commodity crops that would round out the list as options.  Typically these are very high biomass producers, and can be good scavengers of nutrients to help cycling.  These can provide producers an opportunity to grow an annual forage to give their pastures a break as well.  Sudangrass and Sorghum-Sudangrass have excellent regrowth as well, giving the opportunity for either a hay or chopping a crop early, and letting it regrow for more cover, or even just mowing it off once to create more biomass before it heads out.
